2020 has been one for the books. It’s an election year, we’re living through a pandemic, and riots and protests are breaking out everywhere. Whether you’re in quarantine, working from home, or trying to just figure out to survive, you’ve probably got extra time on your hands. Rather than letting that time go unhealthy activities or unproductive things, why not try and do these productive things in 2020.

ย

Have A Routine

Your schedule is probably erratic. Before Covid, you probably had a standard routine and time schedule. Now, if you find yourself waking up and going to bed at different times during the week, your schedule is probably off.

Setting a routine where you get up every day at the same time, workout or meditate, make coffee, work, and then finish your day with some relaxation. If you aren’t planning your days anymore, you’re probably losing out on precious time to be productive. Know where your time goes and be in control of it you want to own it.

Healthier Snacking & Fitness

We get it. It’s hard when you’re at home and have access to the cookie jar or bag of your favorite chips. In light of the ease of access, this is a great time to exercise restraint and gain your health back. Many have gained “quarantine, 15” aka 15 lbs of extra weight this year.

As hard as this year has been, there’s still time to get back on track with your health. Try replacing your snacks with healthier options like fruit, vegetables, healthy fats, and flavored cashews. These kind of snacks are far more fulfilling, satisfying, and healthy than compared to over-processed snacks like chips and cookies.

Working out is something you may not have done much of in 2020 but it might be something you’re looking to prioritise. It’s never too late to get a membership or workout at home because all you need is some gym shorts for men and you can get started. There are plenty of courses and resources online, or you can go to the park if you’re afraid of going to a public gym. The point is to get moving and get out!

Get to the Things You Didn’t Have Time for Before

This can be anything. It could be that new deck you wanted to install in your backyard. It might be serving at the local homeless shelter. Since you should have extra time and less life responsibilities, do the things you’ve been meaning to do for the past couple years.

Now is the perfect time to remove your wisdom teeth. It’s also the perfect time to pick up that photography hobby! Want to learn how to cook? All joking aside, use this precious season to your advantage. You may not get another opportunity such as this one.

You might scoff at labeling the pandemic as an “opportunity”. But the truth is it’s all about we respond to these events that determines whether or not we’ll make the most of our situation or bask in despair.
