On It’s Sales 2.0 that Killed the Cold Call

I could not agree more Josiane, I think that the internet and social media have rapidly overtaken the more traditional methods of selling – such as cold calling and door-to-door sales for instance.

Cold calling as we know it is dying. The modern day buyer is much more sales savvy and well-informed than their predecessors and they want to buy, they do not want to be sold to – so banging your head against a wall with cold calling and trying to push the sale on buyers just will not work. You need to be social calling; you need to be out there on the internet, where you can be found, making connections with your prospects through their social media sites – entering into their discussions with helpful information and building up a relationship with them before you make that call.
